Apparently Angel didn't get that memo. I'm kind of curious what you think R'leyh should make their armies out of, though it's far too late for me to change plans.
Rlyeh has a lot more freedom and a much deeper armylist than Ashdod. Rlyeh can make an eary landfall strategy around meteorite guards with tiny loboguard screens as arrow catchers to make coastal cities to get the bulk they need to make ilithid mind blast offensive work via hybrid freespawn. Obviously, you didn't do that. You can also do a rapid sea expansion system based on crab hybrids - but of course that did not happen either.
Frankly, I'm expecting you to farm void spawn and save money and come out swinging with a giant pie of ilithid using elder polyps, ghosts, and sea trolls as blocking forces and stunned troop clubbers.
At some point, I'm going to play an MP game as R'lyeh and attempt to storm my enemies with legions of Meteorite Guard.
This will all be an elaborate set-up for me to have an excuse to rant about SUPERIOR ABOLETH STEEL. It almost makes up for ugly sprites.

I am running low on Earth gems again, and I will need quite a few to make the Hammer of the Forge Lord. Anyone want to trade for 12 Air gems?
Also, its a long shot, but if someone for some reason decides that they are willing to trade the 150 or so Air gems it will take to empower my pretender to the point that he can craft A4 items, I will totally send them the Magic Lamp.

EDIT:
I traded some stuff for gems, but the gem shipment hasn't come in yet. Looks like I'll have to delay some crafting.
In other news, I got to Construction 7. I'm going to build a Golem to supplement my border defense armies, as the upkeep is starting to get kind of nasty. Probably about 4 turns till I can take a look at what artifacts will be available. Maybe 3rd Imbolc will have some interesting stuff.

So I have about 9 million mages in a provience. One of them has some gems, and would like to give half of them to another specific one. How do you actually do that?
It never seems to want to show me the two relevant mages in the transfer screen.

It's like a regular bow, except it's more like thirteen regular bows.
The SA dominions 3 LP has such an amusing narrator.

Not that I doubt you, but why exactly? The Bashanites seem like a modest cost increase for a modest buff in areas I care about. What makes them a sucker's game?
I actually kind of have to wonder that too. Protection is worth a shitload more to giants than defense, after all.

I suspect giants with spears do enough damage for most of your second-best troops targets; a broadsword is actually a downgrade because you generally won't need the extra damage & it's length 2 instead of 4.
I can't remember exactly what Ashdods giants get in the way of armour, but if Bashanites get more encumbering armour that could be a problem in its own right.
And rewatching the battle, only ONE enslave mind hit Pyriphlogos. The rest were spent on my higher-HP Black Hunters. So I literally rolled a 1 on a single 100-sided die. If there's one ironclad rule of dom3 SC gear, it's that There Is No Such Thing As Enough Magic Resistance.
LPs: Amusing and informative.
For those of you who don't get it, Pyriphlogos is one of the Elemental Kings of fire, and at the time of the battle had 23 MR due to prophet penalties. R'leyh had some starspawn who had been boosted up to astral 6-7, giving them a total effective value of like 12.

The weapon is amazingly better because it has a really nasty poison on it to boot.
Ah. That could situationaly do it. Not so much against Ermorian armies, obviously.

Do you have an account there? Because I kept getting messages about how I would have to sign up to view those threads. I'm curious because if I can suddenly read them without spending money I would be quite happy.
Actually, they switch them on and off from public viewing every so often. They just ended a cycle and I'm catching up on back LPs.

Some dirty Gadite stole my blood slaves. Why would he need 14 brain-damaged chicks?
On the upside, the Lawgiver decided to stop by.
There are worse -blood events. At least it wasn't your own priest/jailer homies sabotaging your nefarious magic fuel.
----
I usually go with the Lawgiver pretender when I'm playing MA Mictlan, just because it is amusing when a hero who is also seen as the Lawgiver shows up. If they weren't both great for site searching, they would stay in the same province whenever possible, just doling out the law to layfolk day and night. No province would be as orderly.
Heh, land peoples and your manual site searching. R'leyh science sneers at walking.
